ESSPS Partner - ThermaTru, Shelli Jorkos, Senior Manager Customer Service & Inside Sales PSLS 3440 Sales – juniors This topic should reinforce the importance of selling ethically, with integrity. We take this approach throughout, but it is great for a student to hear the criticality of ethics in selling from a real world person. It is also helpful for them to hear the benefits of selling with integrity. We usually recommend that this speaker, in addition to just talking, have some “mini-cases” or examples of things that they know happen in the real world, where an ethical response is required. We’ve had students break students into groups to do exercises, or just run class discussion around these examples. The class is 1:20, but plan on around 50-65 minutes after a few announcements so there will be time for student interaction afterward. This occurs at the end of the sales process. Students have been exposed to opening, question asking, solution sharing, Challenger selling, and closing. We emphasize selling in an ethical manner throughout the term, but this is a chance to really cement how important ethics and integrity are in selling.
