Class of 2014
Northeast Sales Manager, Industrial and Safety Markets Center, 3M

Can you tell me a little bit about your personal history including school years at UToledo and career path?

I attended the University of Toledo from 2010-2014; earning a double-major in Professional Sales and Marketing. While at the university, I was highly involved in Pi Sigma Epsilon (a co-Ed Professional Sales, Marketing, and Management Organization) and multiple sales competitions: I was honored to serve as Vice President of Finance and Chapter President during my time as an undergrad in PSE. I competed in the PSE Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon, Ball State Sales Competition, NCSC; and won the University of Toledo Internal Competition in 2013.

My 3M journey began as an Automotive Division Frontline Sales Intern, selling wheel-weights into the automotive aftermarket marketspace based in Atlanta, GA. Post-graduation, I began my career as an Abrasive Specialist in the Akron/Canton, OH market. After gaining valuable field experience, I transitioned into the Channel Specialist role and then became a US Regional Distribution Leader. I am now the Northeast Sales Manager, leading a team of 18 sales professionals focused on helping customers deliver on their priorities by increasing productivity, implementing new technologies, and keeping workers safe.

Can you tell me a little bit more about what’s happened since you were a student at UToledo?

I now live in Portsmouth, NH with my fiancé, Harold Walters, and our dog, Bear. I enjoy giving back to PSE by serving as the National Treasurer on the National Council as well as the Director of the Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon. Additionally, I support UTISC each year by acting as coach, judge, and buyer at the competition. I would not be who I am today without PSE and ESSPS; it’s an honor to give back to the organizations that gave me everything.

What is your current role at 3M and what about it do you enjoy most?

I am the Northeast Sales Manager in 3M’s Industrial & Safety Markets Center. The opportunity to collaborate, coach, and lead a group of world-class professionals is a dream come true. We work together every day towards our goal to be the top team in the county.

Is there anything else you’d like to include?

Dare to dream big; and then relentlessly focus your energy on growing into the person that can accomplish it. Also, learn through others – read, find mentors, surround yourself with a world-class circle of influence.
